Back in the past, When I had to stay back in my college for some rehearsals, It was 10PM and I couldn’t go home alone…b’coz
I am a girl.
The clock strikes 9 and I remember that I forgot something important. But still, I can’t go out to get it; I have to plead and persuade my brother to do it for me…b’coz
I am a girl
When I get an opportunity to go on a tour, I would have to think twice-no- thrice-no-a thousand times before I decide [So will my parents before they permit me to go]…b’coz
I am a girl
Never in my life did I dream that I would write something like this…Because, I believe that these are not the days where a female child is considered a burden…and that these are not the days where they are restricted and tortured by baseless superstitions…
I believed that these are the days where females are honoured, respected, valued equal to males.
True! That females ARE proving themselves everywhere. They are now financially independant; Technically, psychologically, ethically, proffessionally strong.
But still they need to live with the fear of comments and harrassments[….shrug]
In a crowded city bus or a calm workplace , men dont cease to take advantage and harrass them.
And law…It has its own loopholes.
The society continues to be male dominant.
Men continue to view girls as mere sexobjects.
Such thoughts continue to pop into their brains at the very sight of a girl[Even if the girl doesn’t do anything provoking].
I pity that particular sect of male community who can never change and learn to value a girl…
