Something caught my attention when I was turning the pages of my diary yesterday…(It was written in those early days when I resolved to become a doctor..)—-
“I will be the best doctor ever existed”
I couldn’t help laughing at my childish ramblings. 🙂
Dont understand what I really meant by ‘best’..Best in terms of what??— Efficiency? Income? Fame? or a combination??
Obvious that it was a resolution to ‘achieve’ something. Being efficient—Is it an achievement?
My goodness!!
Efficiency is not an achievement, it is a necessity.
Being efficient is not an additional but an essential qualification.
Doctor is one who is consulted incase of an ill-health for medical advice, treatment and relief. If he cannot be of any help in such situations, whats the fun of calling him a doctor?!!
Go for being the best, and not just efficient;
for sometimes just being efficient is not good enough.
When a patient comes to you, they will expect you to give the best,
but not merely an attempt to do your best, and you have to,
be it a brain surgery or just a small wound repair.
since the first day you entered your college you lost that option to be anything but the best and by that I mean the healthcare provider
and not the student, the academician, fame nor money.
Got you…
I totally agree with how you feel.
Sorry,
on re-reading my comment it sounds like a lecture. It wasn’t meant to be one.
It wasn’t … 🙂

I agree with every word you said…
From a the perspective of a common man (that’s me), a doctor is one in whom we can find faith. Quite simply.
Umm… I think I went off-track with this one. But honestly.
Exactly…
Doctor is bound to keep the trust..
